Thanks to England’s Wild Animals in Circuses Act 2019 and similar legislation in Wales and Scotland, the likes of elephants, lions, and tigers are no longer used in circus performances. However, a handful of circuses still use ‘domestic’ animals like horses, ponies, donkeys, rabbits, and even cats!

Our 2024 investigation, Lives Left Behind, revealed that the animals currently used for circus performances face the same stresses, difficulties, and risks that wild animals faced before the ban. All animals deserve safety, and freedom from exploitation. That’s why we’re asking for your help to oppose animal circuses, and end this cruel practice once and for all.
